Canada Express Entry French-Language Draw Issues 5,000 Invitations at CRS 407 on October 27, 2026
October 28, 2026 | Lifeline Immigration
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held Express Entry round #452 on October 27, 2026. The French-language proficiency selection issued 5,000 invitations to apply for permanent residence. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited was 407, according to IRCC’s official rounds dataset.
How the latest French-language draw compares
The previous French-language round, #450 on October 16, issued 5,000 invitations at a CRS cut-off of 435. The October 27 cut-off was therefore 28 points lower. This comparison applies to the French-language category, not to all Express Entry candidates or future rounds.
Who is eligible for French-language selection?
IRCC requires French-language test results showing at least Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) level 7 in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Candidates must also qualify for an Express Entry-managed immigration program and meet the instructions for the specific invitation round. A CRS score of 407 alone does not establish eligibility or guarantee an invitation.
The tie-breaking rule matters
For candidates tied at CRS 407, IRCC’s published tie-breaking timestamp was July 13, 2026 at 19:22:00 UTC. The rule prioritizes eligible profiles submitted before the specified cut-off time when candidates share the lowest invited score.
What applicants should do next
Candidates should check their IRCC account for an invitation rather than assuming that a score at or above the cut-off means they were selected. IRCC states that invited Express Entry candidates have 60 days to submit a complete permanent residence application. Applicants should review their program and category eligibility and ensure their language-test information is accurate.
IRCC has separately announced Express Entry scoring changes effective November 3, 2026. Those future rules should not be confused with the October 27 round’s published results.
